I have the honour to acknowledge the receipt of your Lordship's despatch No. 18 of the 31st January last and in reply to your query regarding whether the Proclamation of 1866 is still in force, in case we have to act on the lines of the Straits Currency Ordinance of 21st Oct. 1890.
I am to ask by telegraph whether the Proclamation of 15 Sept. 1866 is still in force as follows:
